My restoration has failed! What can I do?

Restoration is a process that links a subscription to the account you are currently logged into.
For example: If you created an account using your Apple ID but want to use Readly on a desktop computer or Android device, you need to:

  1. Create a new account with an email address.

  2. Restore your existing subscription (linked to Apple ID) to this new account.

If restoration fails, it may be due to one of the following four reasons:

Reason 1: You are not logged in with the correct credentials

  • Did you subscribe using your Apple account?

    • If yes, log out and then log back in using the black button “Continue with Apple”.

  • Is your account linked to an email address?

    • Check your email inbox to confirm which address the confirmation email was sent to.

Reason 2: Delay in subscription renewal with iTunes

  • If your subscription is not active on the renewal day, a delay in data processing between Apple’s servers and Readly’s servers may cause temporary loss of access even though the subscription has been paid.

  • In this case, the subscription will be reactivated within 24 to 48 hours.

Reason 3: You subscribed without being logged in (anonymous mode)

  • In this case, your subscription is tied to your device, not to an account.

  • Here is how to restore the link:

    1. Log out.

    2. Open the app without logging in (click “Ignore” at the top right).

    3. Restore your subscription: My Account > My Subscription > Restore My Subscription.

    4. Go back to the home page.

    5. Log in with an email address.

    6. Repeat step 3 (restoration).

Reason 4: Your subscription is linked to another partner

  • If you usually link your account through a partner such as SFR or Free, you do not need to perform restoration.

  • Simply log in using the relevant partner button.

  • Note: If your subscription is linked to a Canal+ account, you can no longer log in via the special + button, as the partnership between Canal+ and Readly ended on 18 September 2023.
