Youth Experience: Creation, Editing and Parental Controls

Profile Types and Main Information

When adding a profile, 4 profile types are available:

  • Adult: Access to the full Readly experience
  • Teen: Access to the full Readly experience, except for certain adult content
  • Junior: Access to a catalogue suitable for children
  • Mini: Access to a catalogue suitable for toddlers

This feature is available in the Duo and Family plans.

Editing a Profile

Currently, a profile cannot be edited (e.g., to change the profile type). The profile in question must be deleted and then a new profile created.

Parental Controls

1- A parent code is required to access adult profiles (unless this option has been disabled on the device) and to add a new profile.

2- The code is set when creating the first Teen, Junior or Mini profile and must be entered twice for confirmation.

3- It is a 4-digit code.
(Note: Some users migrating from Readly may have a 6-digit code. In this case, the first 4 digits work. The code can of course be changed via the reset option.)

4- Incorrect code → access denied.

5- If the code is forgotten, it can be reset via a session on the website.

6- Adult profiles have a “Parental Controls” section in their settings.

a- All adults can disable parental controls on their device.
Note: This action disables parental controls for all profiles on this device.

b- The administrator profile can also change the parental control settings.

7- If all children’s profiles are deleted and then a new Teen, Junior or Mini profile is created, the previously set parent code remains active.
